Sunday's VU Men's Basketball Jamboree tips off Trailblazers' preseason action

The Vincennes University Men’s Basketball Team officially begins its short list of preseason dates with Sunday’s 2014 VU Men’s Basketball Jamboree at the VU P.E. Complex.
The Trailblazers will play three games in the jamboree and then host NAIA Div. I Lyndenwood-Belleville at 1 p.m. Oct. 25 at the P.E. Complex. The preseason tune-ups lead up to the Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 2014 Kiwanis Invitational at the P.E. Complex to start the 2014 regular season.

VU Bowling claims 1st title of USBC-Collegiate era; Trailblazers lead wire-to-wire for victory

INDIANAPOLIS – The Vincennes University Bowling Team’s varsity squad won VU’s first championship of the Trailblazers’ USBC-Collegiate Era by claiming the Storm Western Shoot-Out over the weekend at Western Bowl in Indianapolis. VU’s junior varsity group was third in that 16-team division and 15th overall in the 44-team event.
Individually, third-year Trailblazer bowler Corey Umbrello won the title with a 218 average. VU sophomore Tyler Show posted a 206 average.
“We have our first championship of the new era,” an elated VU Coach Gary Sparks said.

VU Volleyball drops four-set match to Kaskaskia

The Vincennes University Volleyball Team claimed the first set, but dropped the final three Friday night in a 1-3 loss to visiting Kaskaskia at the VU P.E. Complex.
The loss dropped the Trailblazers to 12-17 on the season.
After winning the opening set 25-18, VU came up short in the remaining three sets by scores of 20-25, 24-26 and 12-25.
