VU Blazer Baseball recruiting class brings 25 players; Crop of newcomers fills several Trailblazer needs

The Vincennes University Blazer Baseball Team’s signing class for the 2014-15 school year includes 25 incoming players, the largest group of commitments in VU Coach Chris Barney’s tenure.
The huge number of freshmen provides a vast pool of talent to accompany the crop of returning players from the Trailblazers’ 2014 NJCAA Div. II World Series-qualifying team.

VU Blazer Baseball's Simpson, Doring make NJCAA Div. II All-American lists

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Vincennes University Blazer Baseball’s Trent Simpson and Robbie Doring were named to the 2014 NJCAA Div. II Baseball All-American lists that were announced earlier today.
Simpson, a sophomore, was a First-Team All-American and Doring was a freshman member of the Second-Team squad as the Trailblazers assembled a 43-18 record. Simpson will continue his collegiate baseball career at Indiana University-Southeast while Doring is transferring to Dayton for the 2014-15 school year.

VU Baseball’s season wraps up with NJCAA World Series loss to Mercer County

ENID, Okla. – The Vincennes University Blazer Baseball Team’s season came to an end Tuesday when the Trailblazers dropped a 5-2 elimination game decision to Mercer County in VU’s third game of the NJCAA Div. II World Series in Enid, OK.
Mercer County will play the loser of the game between Hinds and Pasco-Hernando that was set for Tuesday night. That game will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at David Allen Memorial Ballpark.
