PEORIA, Ill. - The Vincennes University Tennis Team got off to a good start Sunday afternoon by winning the doubles point, but failed to win a singles match in a 6-1 loss at NCAA Div. I Bradley. “We came out strong with good energy in doubles,” VU Coach Ron Albers. “We showed good movement we’d worked on in practice last week. We played smarter strategies in serving and receiving.” But the Braves, who are coached by former Trailblazer Jesse Plote, turned the tide quickly in singles by winning first sets in all six matches.
DAYTON, Ohio – The Vincennes University Tennis Team dropped five close singles matches in a 6-1 loss at NCAA Div. I Wright State Saturday. The Trailblazers (1-2) lost all three doubles matches to start the day and picked up their only point in singles from sophomore Jose Zaatini.
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Vincennes Univeristy Tennis Team dropped a 6-3 indoor decision at NCAA Division II Northern Kentucky Thursday night in the season opener for both teams. The Trailblazers, reigning NJCAA champions, won three of the six singles matches after close losses at all three doubles points to start the team match “They took it to us”, VU Coach Ron Albers said. “You’re not going to win when you only have one service break in three doubles matches in a nine point team match.”
