VU soph Anya Kalenta’s jersey requested for Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame has requested Vincennes University sophomore forward and NJCAA All-American Anya Kalenta’s jersey to display in the Hall’s Ring of Honor to recognize her outstanding play for the Trailblazers during the 2013-14 season.

VU's Anya Kalenta chooses Nebraska for next step in college hoops career

Vincennes University sophomore forward Anya Kalenta has signed a NCAA national letter of intent to continue her collegiate basketball career at Nebraska.
A NJCAA Third-Team All-American in 2013-14 after transferring to VU from Broward College, Kalenta averaged 20.8 points and 10.7 rebounds per game to lead the Trailblazers to a 23-7 record. The 6-3 product of Minsk, Belarus, also blocked 62 shots and stepped out to make 32 3-pointers in 2013-14. She scored in double figures in all but one game last season and recorded 19 double-doubles in points and rebounds.

Agreement creates Region 24 match-ups for VU Women’s Basketball; Pact also places Trailblazer Women in Region 24 Tournament

An agreement has been reached between Vincennes University and the nine Div. I women’s basketball programs in the NJCAA’s Region 24 to host home-and-home dates during the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons, as well as adding VU to the NJCAA Region 24/District 16 Tournament lineup.
