ARLINGTON, Texas – The Vincennes University Bowling Team – fresh off its national runner-up performance in the NJCAA Bowling National Championships – is readying for its other national championship competition by preparing to join the country’s other top college bowling programs in sectional-qualifying for the 2013 xbowling Intercollegiate Team Championships.

Healy, Scott-Jones lead VU bowlers to 2nd place at title tournament

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – VU sophomore bowler Dan Healy was the individual winner, sophomore Jalen Scott-Jones was third and the VU Bowling Team finished as the runner-up team to Schenectady Community College Saturday at the 2013 NJCAA National Bowling Championships in Cheektowaga, NY.
Healy rolled a total of 2478 for a 206.5 average, edging Schenectady’s Tyler Mocharie by three pins. Scott-Jones – last year’s NJCAA All-Events winner – totaled 2362 pins and logged an average of 196.8.

CHEEKTOWAGA, NY – The Vincennes University Bowling Team begins defense of its National Junior College Athletic Association National Championship Friday when the Trailblazers start action in this year’s NJCAA Bowling National Championships at AMF Thruway Lanes in Cheektowaga, NY.
The tournament is hosted by Erie Community College of Buffalo, NY. VU enters the event as the 18-time and defending NJCAA champions.

In addition to the VU Baseball Team's season getting under way vs. West Georgia Tech near Atlanta, GA, the VU Track & Field Teams continue their indoor season at the University of Indianapolis' Tom Hathaway Challenge, the VU Bowling Team competes at the McKendree Baker Classic in Fairview Heights, IL, and the VU Trailblazer Men's and Women's Basketball Teams are on the road at Kaskaskia in Centralia, IL, and Cincinnati State.

VU Bowlers looking for improvement after disappointing season opener

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Vincennes University Blazer Bowling Team opened its 2012 season at the Hammer Midwest Collegiate Classic Saturday and Sunday in Milwaukee, WI, with a 28th place team finish (10,603 total pins). The field included 42 teams and Robert Morris University of Illinois won with 12,330 pins.
Sophomore Dan Healy led the Trailblazers’ individual finishes with a 50th place showing (1751 pins in nine games for a 194 average). Healy also had VU’s High Series (626) and High Game (224) scores.

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Vincennes University Blazer Bowling Team is among the nation's top collegiate teams battling for the United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Team Championships title this week at Sun Valley Lanes in Lincoln, NE.
VU enters the event after landing the program’s 18th NJCAA National Championship last month. VU's Jalen Scott-Jones won the all-events title. Teammates Brett Golabek, James Fielder and Kyle Geurtsen also finished in the individual top 10, and Golabek and Fielder joined Scott-Jones on the NJCAA All-America Team.

SMYRNA, Tenn.– The Vincennes University Blazer Bowling Team – fresh off its 18th NJCAA National Bowling Championship – continued its stellar late-season run by qualifying over the weekend for next month’s United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Team Championships.

VU Blazer Bowling Team claims another NJCAA championship!

CHEEKTOWAGA, NY - The Vincennes University Blazer Bowling Team won its 18th NJCAA Men's National Championship Saturday, topping Hudson Valley Community College by 141 pins at the NJCAA Bowling Championships in Cheektowaga, NY.
Individually, VU's Jalen Scott-Jones (pictured right) won the all-events title, edging Cayuga CC's Bobby Moro by one pin, 2,471 to 2,470. VU's Brett Golabeck, James Fielder and Kyle Geurtsen also finished in the individual top 10 (see final individual and team standings below).
